The TRP development story with Aaron Gwin and Asa Vermette

At TRP, our gravity brake and drivetrain development has always been driven by racing at the highest level. From the beginning, Aaron Gwin played a key role in shaping our downhill brakes, working directly with our engineers to refine power, modulation, and consistency under World Cup conditions. His feedback helped us build a platform proven on the toughest tracks in the world.

That foundation continues to push us forward.

Today, we’re evolving into the next generation with Asa Vermette. As one of the sport’s most exciting young riders, Asa brings fresh perspective and progression to our development process, testing and refining our brakes for the demands of modern downhill.

This isn’t a handoff, it’s a continuation. By combining Gwin’s experience with Asa’s forward momentum, we’re continuing to develop brakes where it matters most: on track, at speed, and under pressure.

That’s how we’ve always done it and how we’ll keep moving forward.
