TRP Opens the 2026 UCI World Cup Season with Dual Victories in South Korea

The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup season opened in PyeongChang, and for TRP, it couldn’t have started any stronger.

In our first year as a title sponsor, Frameworks Racing / TRP delivered a statement performance—securing a Downhill World Cup victory, while Origine Racing Division claimed the Short Track XC (XCC) win in the same weekend.

This isn’t just a strong start. It’s a milestone moment.

Downhill: Asa Vermette Wins in Elite Debut

Asa Vermette made it clear from the start that he came to race.

After qualifying in first, Asa carried that speed into finals and secured his first Elite World Cup victory—in his debut event at elite level.

Composure, precision, and outright speed. From top split to finish line, the run delivered.

For TRP, it also marks our first World Cup win as a title sponsor, making the result even more significant for the entire Frameworks Racing / TRP program.

Beyond the win, the broader TRP-supported field showed resilience in tough conditions. Veronika Widmann fought back to 12th after a crash, Anna Newkirk pushed through to 13th despite going down, while Aaron Gwin and Antoine Rogge rounded out the results in 17th and 18th.

XCC: Mathis Azzaro Delivers for Origine Racing Division

On the XC side, Mathis Azzaro powered to victory in the Short Track event, securing both his first XCC World Cup win and the first World Cup victory for Origine Racing Division.

Fast, aggressive racing from the gun—executed exactly when it mattered.

The team backed it up across disciplines, with Martina Berta landing on the podium in 3rd for XCC and following it up with a strong 5th in XCO. Azzaro returned in XCO as well, finishing 12th after a crash—showing speed was there across both formats.

Built in Racing. Proven Everywhere.

The EVO platform wasn’t adapted into racing—it was born there.

What works under World Cup pressure is what defines performance. Power, modulation, consistency, and control—validated in real conditions, at real speed.

Opening round. Two wins.

Looking Ahead

This is only the beginning of the 2026 season, but it’s already one we won’t forget.

Huge congratulations to all of our athletes, teams, and everyone working behind the scenes to make moments like this possible.

Proud doesn’t begin to cover it.

And for those paying attention—keep your eyes on June. Something special is coming.
